USK Group LLC is an American holding company. Its purpose is to research, build and own consequential businesses across industries. Technology is the first of them, not the last.
Find a system that is about to change state. Understand it better than anyone. Build or own the thing that moves it. Hold it for a long time.
Most organizations pick one of those and stop. USK is structured to do all four, in sequence, and to keep what it learns along the way. The system can be a protocol, a market, a material, a building or a business on a street corner. What changes is the industry. What does not change is the standard.
Research
Independent investigation into systems that are changing state: a protocol, a market, a material, a city block. The output is understanding good enough to act on.
Build
Engineering and operations. The products, tools and businesses the research makes obvious, built to be run for a long time.
Own
Operating companies and holdings under one parent. Founded or acquired, they are held for the long term and expected to compound. Gerfach Labs is the first.
Not systems at rest. Systems changing state.
Kinetics is the study of forces acting on systems and the motion that results. We borrowed the word for the group's working identity because it describes what we are interested in: a protocol becoming the connective layer for a new kind of software, a material becoming cheap enough to build with, a neighborhood changing hands, a regulation moving a market.
The system is the same before and after. Its state is not. The moment of change is when understanding is worth the most, and it is where the group does its work.

Engineering, operations or acquisition: the thing that moves the system, built to be run for decades rather than shown once.

When the work earns its own name, its own market and its own accounts, it becomes an operating company under the group.
A parent built to hold more than one thing, in more than one industry.
USK Group LLC is the legal entity and the long-term owner. Initiatives develop underneath it and, when they are ready, operate under their own identity: their own name, their own work, their own customers.
The structure does not care what industry an initiative is in. A research lab, a software company, a manufacturer, a property, a gym: each sits under the same parent, with the same standard of evidence and the same horizon. Gerfach Labs is the first.
